Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic played some glorious shots en route her 7-5 6-2 conquest of Italy’s Camila Giorgi in the second round of the WTA Toray Pan Pacific Open. The highlight of the day, however, was an unusual backhand winner from Ivanovic during the first set of the match.

It happened so when the Serb had 3 game points at 4-4 in the opening set when she sliced a return to Giorgi’s forehand and rushed to the net. The latter, then, attempted a passing shot which deflected off the net to rise to another direction altogether.

Ivanovic, however, was agile enough to turn her way around and gallop towards the ball. Subsequently, she pulled off an incredible backhand judgment, reeling off an implausible point that saw her take a 5-4 lead. Her reaction that ensured, spoke the rest.
