Andy Murray has established himself as one of the prime contenders for the upcoming French Open 2015 after a glorious fortnight that saw him win two titles on clay in as many weeks.

After reigning supreme in Munich, Murray went on to win the recently-concluded Madrid Masters, where in process he overcame the likes of Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori and Rafael Nadal.

Nadal, better known as the ‘King of Clay’, has not been in the best of his forms of late. On the contrary, Murray – who had never won a title on clay until a few days back – made it two in a row on the red dirt.

This made popular news channel BBC Sport write “Could Andy Murray be the new king of clay” and the Briton was quick to laugh it off, tweeting: “hahahaha! No”

Citing exhaustion, Murray later pulled out of this week’s Rome Masters and continues to gear up for the big event later this month.
