This week’s tennis action on the men’s tour promises to be the one to watch out for, as players from all around the world are out to try their luck at three events on the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) tour – Hamburg, Gstaad and Atlanta.

Bet-At-Home Open, Hamburg (Germany)

Fresh from his stunning second-round egress at the Wimbledon Championships, Rafael Nadal, couldn’t get things sorted. The Spaniard accepted a wildcard entry into the doubles draw alongside little-known compatriot Jaume Munar.

The duo, however, were handed a tough draw. Up against the top-seeded Italians Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini, the Spanish duo were oblivious as they eventually lost out 6-4 6-2 in the opening-round battle that lasted 72 minutes.

Moving on, Nadal will look to get rid of his lackluster form when he crosses the swords with countryman Fernando Verdasco in the first round of singles event on Tuesday.

BB&T Atlanta Open, Atlanta (USA)

Former US Open champion, Andy Roddick, took a break from retirement to partner veteran Mardy Fish for the doubles event here. While the former had retired back in 2012, the latter is on his way of hanging his boots up.

The experienced twosome is slated to meet up with the British-Taiwanese combination of Yen-Hsun Lu and Jonathan Marray in the tournament opener.
