Stefanos Tsitsipas has let his racket do the talking at the ongoing Australian Open 2019. The 20-year-old has pulled off some memorable wins – including a win over 23-time Major winner Roger Federer in the pre-quarterfinals.

Apart from his on-court skills though, Tsitsipas’ hair has also been a topic of discussion this week. The Greek No. 1 was seen struggling to tie up his hair during his latest win over Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in the last-eight stage.

It’s perhaps that incident that prompted one journalist to open up the discussion during the press conference. “Do you think the long hair can give you problems when you move and…?” was the question that sent a wave of laughter in the press room.

Tsitsipas had a rather funny reply to it. “Yeah, that’s why I’m hiring a hairdresser next week [chuckles]. That’s why I wear headbands, otherwise I’d be in huge trouble,” he said.

Does it plan to chop it off anytime soon? “I like it. It’s my trademark. It’s my signature. I’m gonna keep it, I’ll tell you that.”

Tstsipas is scheduled to lock horns with world No. 2 Rafael Nadal of Spain in Thursday’s semifinals.
