American No. 4 Sloane Stephens says she has no plans to delay her Olympic debut as continues to gear up for the Rio Games despite the Zika virus fears in the Brazilian city.

Many tennis players including Simona Halep, Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, and Dominic Thiem have decided to skip the sport’s mega-event due to the perils possessed by the mosquito-borne disease that is mainly associated with birth illnesses.

However, skipping the event is not on Stephens’ mind. “I’m kind of scared but I’m not having any kids any time soon so I should be okay,” said the 23-year-old, who is rumored to be dating fellow tennis player Jack Sock.

Opining on the some players’ decision to pull out, she added: “Some people are way more sensitive and some people aren’t. It just depends on the person.”

Stephens (No. 23) is expected to join countrywomen Serena Williams (1), Venus Williams (8) and Madison Keys (11) among the others at the Rio Games that begin from August 5.
