After consolidating her position at the zenith of the world rankings released by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Monday, star American tennis player Serena Williams has complete 250 weeks on the core of the chart.

By the virtue of this, the 33-year-old became just the fourth player in the history of the WTA circuit to achieve the feat. The other players to have done so comprise the likes of former superstars of the sport – Steffi Graf (377), Martina Navratilova (332) and Chris Evert (260).

This comes just days after Williams pulled off her sixth crown at the prestigious Wimbledon Championships that bolstered her all-time Grand Slam tally to 20 titles overall (6 at Australian Open, 3 at French Open, and 6 at the US Open being the others).

In the men’s section, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic continued his unprecedented domination in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) rankings. With 13,845 points in his kitty, he leads second-ranked Swiss Roger Federer (9,665) by a colossal margin of over 5,000 points.

Great Britain’s Andy Murray (7,840), Stanislas Wawrinka (5,790) of Switzerland, and Japan’s Kei Nishikori (5,525) clung on to their third, fourth and fifth spot respectively in the latest release by the ATP.
