Roger Federer on Tuesday hit the practice courts at the US Open with American young gun Christopher Eubanks ahead of his quarter-final tie.

The Swiss ace, who has found his rhythm in the last couple of matches after being stretched to five sets in the opening two rounds, is set to square-off against Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro in what would be a repeat of 2009 final at the Flushing Meadows.

And Federer, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, traded some rallies with the 21-year-old Eubanks ahead of the mouth-watering last-eight contest.

Eubanks, the current world No. 324, expressed happiness at spending some time with the ‘Greatest Of All Time (GOAT).’

“Had a blast today striking a few with the GOAT! Thanks and good luck tomorrow @rogerfederer #Usopen2017 #GOAT,” Eubanks wrote alongside a picture of the two on Twitter.

Eubanks had crashed out in the first round of the Open, losing in straight sets to Dudi Sela of Israel.
