Top seed Roger Federer survived a scare as he rallied from a set and a break down to pull off a nervy win in the second round of the Brisbane International 2015 on Thursday.

The Swiss maestro needed just over a two hours to clinch a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 conquest of local hope John Millman, and eventually sealed his berth in the quarterfinals.

“I didn’t play badly, but maybe felt a bit tired at times,” Federer explained, as quoted by the ATP World Tour. “The first match of the season you never know quite what to expect.

“I am sweating like crazy. I am happy we had a good match and I got through in the end.”
