Switzerland’s Roger Federer became only the third player on the ATP World Tour to qualify for the year-ending World Tour Finals. He, now, joins fellow tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray  in the elite field.

This comes just after the second-ranked Federer overcame America’s John Isner in straight sets to progress to the last-eight stage of the ongoing US Open 2015. Moving on, he is scheduled to square-off against France’s Richard Gasquet in the quarter-finals.

Federer, 34, has had a fruitful season owing to an impressive record of 49-7 this year. Triumphs in Dubai, Istanbul, Halle and Cincinnati served major chunks to his rankings boost, besides a runner-up finish at the Wimbledon Championships.

This will mark Federer’s 14th consecutive appearance at the prestigious tournament that is slated to be held at the well-known O2 Arena in London. Notably, the Swiss has emerged victorious on a whopping six different occasions here.
