Spain’s former World No. 1 and 4-time Grand Slam champion, Manuel Santana, backed under-fire Rafael Nadal to regain form and be in the black ahead of the prestigious Roland Garros that begins in May.

Nadal, 29, has been going through a rough patch, having lost four matches already this year including a first-round egress (to Fernando Verdasco) from the season-opening major, the Australian Open 2016.

Santana, however, believes that Nadal will find a way to get in groove ahead of his favorite tournament in Paris.

“He’s going to win Roland Garros,” Puntodebreak quoted Sanata, who continued that the Spaniard is just going through lack of confidence. “Once he starts winning (again), he will be the Rafa we expect.”

Furthermore, Santana also spoke out on present World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, opining that the top-ranked Serb is the best player in the world.

“Djokovic is the best in the world today,” he stated, before adding that Nadal should not only tackle Djokovic, but also find ways to beat the rest of the opponents who all compete for victories.
