Rafael Nadal may have had a huge slump in his form of late, but the 9-time champion is still the favorite for the French Open 2015, believes 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer.

“Even though his form is not as good as in previous years, I still believe when the French Open rolls around he is going to be very difficult to beat,” Federer was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

In the last few years, Nadal has been dominating his way on clay. But, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is arguably the only player who has continued to trouble the Spaniard. This makes Federer believe that the latter can also be a strong contender.

“At the French Open, Rafa for me is still the favorite alongside Djokovic who has been playing so well,” added Federer, who won the tournament here in 2009.

The French Open is scheduled to kick-start from May 24 in Paris, France.
