Rafael Nadal blasts Wimbledon after being seeded behind Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic

Rafael Nadal has objected to being seeded No. 3 for this year’s Wimbledon despite being ranked No. 2 in the ATP rankings.

Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam to consider past results at the All England Club more than the world rankings while deciding the seedings.

Naturally, third-ranked Federer, an eight-time Wimbledon champion, was seeded second to just top-ranked Novak Djokovic.

Nadal, who has won it just twice, express displeasure at possibly having to face either Federer or Djokovic in the semi-finals.

“Wimbledon is the only tournament of the year that does it like this,” the Spaniard told Movistar Plus. “Obviously, it would be better to be two than three but if they think I have to be three I will accept three and fight to win the matches I have to win.

“Having said that, the only thing that doesn’t seem right about this issue is that it is only Wimbledon that does it. If they all did it, it would seem more correct.”

The Wimbledon main draw gets under way on July 1.
