Agnieszka Radwanska and Jerzy Janowicz scripted Poland’s maiden win at the Hopman Cup 2015, after the duo subdued a sturdy challenge from the United States of America at the Perth Arena on Saturday.

Earlier, Radwanska gave Poland a 1-0 lead by exploiting World No.1 Serena Williams’ poor form, as the former pulled off a stunning 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 triumph.

Later, in the men’s singles rubber, American John Isner clinched the equalizer by getting the better of Jerzy Janowicz 7-6, 6-4.

In the deciding mixed doubles rubber, Radwanska and Janowicz paired up to draft a 7-6, 6-3 victory over the American twosome of Williams and Isner to clinch a first ever mixed-team title for Poland Down Under.

“It was really great especially there are always strong teams here and the title means so much for us,” a delightful Radwanska was quoted as saying by HopmanCup.com.

Meanwhile, Janowicz reflected on their win, saying: “A really great start to the season, it was really a lot of fun to play here, especially with Aga and we had a lot of fun and on top of it we played against some really great players.”
