Czech Republic’s top female tennis player, Petra Kvitova, revealed that her goals for the forthcoming season are to clamber up the ladder to number one ranking and to perk up her performances in the Grand Slam events.

Currently ranked fourth in the women’s singles rankings, Kvitova has two Wimbledon Championships (2011, ’14) under her belt, but is yet to peak to the core of the world rankings.

“Next year I have some clear goals in my mind. I want to have better results at the Grand Slams and of course one day I want to be Number One in the world,” Kvitova wrote on her official blog.

“I have been close already, but I really hope that day will come,” added the 25-year-old Czech, who rose to her career-best ranking of number two in 2011.

“Those clear goals are motivating me to work harder than ever before to get ready for 2015.”
