Two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova is working with renowned coach Wim Fissette on a trial basis at this week’s WTA premier event in Tokyo, Japan.

Kvitova had fired her coach Frantisek Cermak after suffering a fourth-round exit to eventual champion Angelique Kerber from the recently-concluded US Open 2016.

Fissette was spotted courtside, cheering for Kvitova during her first-round match Madison Brengle in Tokyo that she went on to win 6-3 6-3 on Tuesday.

New York Times’ journalist, Ben Rothenberg, later confirmed the 28-year-old’s latest coalition.

Fissette, 36, is best known for coaching some of the biggest names in the circuit including Kim Clijsters, Sabine Lisicki, Simona Halep, and Victoria Azarenka.

Kvitova will next meet Olympic champion Monica Puig for a place in the quarter-finals.
