Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, John Isner and Kevin Anderson are the four semi-finalists at Wimbledon this year.

Most of you all would pick either Nadal or Djokovic to win the title, for the simple reason that they are more experienced players and have won the premier grass-court event in the past.

But not everyone thinks so. Mardy Fish, a former American star and Olympic silver medallist, was so impressed with countryman Isner’s quarter-final win that he has backed him to go all they way this very weekend.

“Couldn’t be more proud of @JohnIsner,” Fish, a former Wimbledon quarter-finalist himself, tweeted following Isner’s 6-7 7-6 6-4 6-3 win over Canada’s Milos Raonic on Wednesday.

He also credited Isner’s coach for his career-best run at Wimbledon. “Needs to be said as well, Justin Gimelstob is doing a phenomenal job helping play the correct way.

“He can absolutely win Wimbledon.”

Fish’s compatriot Andy Roddick, a former US Open champion, corroborated with a “+1”.

Before that, Isner has to get past South Africa’s Anderson in the semi-finals. Should he win, he will meet either Djokovic or Nadal in Sunday’s title clash.
