Nick Kyrgios has expressed displeasure after fellow Australian tennis player Daria Gavrilova went unpunished following an on-court meltdown at WTA International event in Acapulco on Tuesday.

Gavrilova, the current world No. 26, threw her racket in disgust after being broken back in the second set of her first-round match against American Madison Brengle.

The throw just about missed hitting a ball boy. Had it hit him, a disqualification was likely for Gavrilova, who escaped any sort of a punishment despite the outburst.

And, Kyrgios is not happy with the decision.

Often in the news for all the controversial reasons, Kyrgios – criticised by many due to his volatile behaviour – has claimed that he would have been ‘banned’ for six years and that it would have attracted a vast media coverage.

“I would be banned for 6 years and been on every paper and news channel for the next month,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Something to ponder upon?
