Marin Cilic faces criticism for ball-bouncing antics at ATP Finals, again

Marin Cilic couldn’t really sign off the year on a high as he went down to Swiss ace Roger Federer, in what was a dead rubber for the Croat at the ongoing ATP Finals in London on Thursday.

Despite being handed a 7-6 4-6 1-6, Cilic found a way to irk Federer and his fans by bouncing the ball more than usual while preparing to serve.

The 2014 US Open champion began the match by bouncing a ball as many as nine times before unleashing the first serve, as per a report by Express.

“@cilic_marin Kindly bounce off #federer #NittoATPFinals,” one user tweeted soon after.

This is not the first time that Cilic has faced criticism for taking too long to serve. Earlier this year during the US Open (and Wimbledon too), he was accused of similar antics.

“I was wondering if #Cilic could please bounce the ball 900 more times before he serves. #USOpen,” a Twitter user had pointed out then.

Something for Cilic to ponder upon.
