If anything, Lleyton Hewitt doesn’t seem to be in good mood, if his latest press conference ahead of Australia’s fixture against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Davis Cup World Group qualifiers.

Having been involved in a verbal spat with Bernard Tomic recently, the question on the feud was expected to be brought up on Tuesday. It did. But, Hewitt was prepared for it.

“I’m not going to waste my time on that now,” the 37-year-old quickly put a full stop to it, as quoted by The Guardian.

Apart from Tomic – who apparently wasn’t even considered – the other notable player to have not been selected was Nick Kyrgios.

Hewitt, though, kept mum on being asked the reason behind his omission, something, he said, had already been conveyed to Kyrgios.

“He knows why he’s not, we have sat down and spoken about it. He has still got to meet the standards that we expect week in and week out. He knows what he has got to do.”

In the duo’s absence, Alex De Minaur will lead the charge for the hosts, with John Millman, Jordan Thompson, Alexei Popyrin and John Peers being the others.

And this bunch will get the job done, Hewitt believes.

“We have got a lot of options and I’m happy with how the guys are playing at the moment,” he said.

“I think I have got a team that can get the job done and I fully back these boys to get the win.”

As for Bosnia and Herzegovina, their challenge will be spearheaded by the likes of Damir Dzumhur and Mirza Basic.

Who ya got winning?
