After a lot of hullabaloo, it seems that Juan Martin del Potro has finally got rid of his wrist issues as his name was included in Argentina’s four-member squad for the Rio Olympics.

There was an uncertainty concerning his availability due to the wrist injury that kept him out for most of the last two seasons.

However, the country’s David Cup captain Daniel Orsanic shrugged off the tentativeness after he confirmed del Potro’s availability along with Federico Delbonis, Guido Pella, and Juan Monaco, even as the names await confirmations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

According to a report by TenisZone, while del Potro and Monaco made the cut through the protected rankings, Delbonis and Pella have qualified based on their current rankings.

Meanwhile, del Potro will look to improve his 11-6 record when he takes on American John Isner in the first round of the Aegon Championships in London, which begins Monday.
