John Isner jokes he got his a*s kicked from Roger Federer in Miami; Swiss replies

Roger Federer won his 101st title after pulling off a 6-1 6-4 win over John Isner in the Miami Open final on Sunday.
Although Federer was at his usual best, the big-serving Isner had something else to deal with as well – an injury to his left foot – during the title clash that lasted just 63 minutes.
But Isner was gracious in his defeat as he took to his official Instagram account to congratulate Federer in a light-hearted manner.
“Never this happy after a loss but there’s no shame in getting my ass kicked by this legend @rogerfederer. Thank you @miamiopen for another memorable tournament,” the lanky American captioned a picture of himself with his Swiss counterpart after their clash.
Federer, too, turned up with a reply as amiable. “Big week for a big guy. Congrats John!” he commented.
Earlier in the evening, Federer was flawless – in every sense of the word – as far as his performance on first serve was concerned.
The 20-time Major winner won all of his 20 points on first serve serve, dropped just three points on his second, and let the 6’10” Isner serve just nine aces – a number he would outdo in just one set on another day.
He’s sure ageing like fine wine.
