ITPL news: Roger Federer replaces his long time rival Rafael Nadal for Dheli based team Indian Aces
The International Tennis Premier League (ITPL) will kick off for their inaugural show on November 28th 2014. The ITPL features some of the world’s best current and former tennis players gracing the court. Tennis legends such as Andre Agassi, Gael Monfils, Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna and Fabrice Santoro and Pete Sampras will be joined by Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray for the tournament.
14-time grand slam winner Rafael Nadal was originally scheduled to play along side Pete Sampras for the Indian Aces, but will now be replaced by his long time Wimbledon rival Roger Federer. The news emerged today that Nadal will be taking some time out after suffering multiple injuries throughout the year.
17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Fererer will replace Nadal, as the Spaniard looks to resume play in Beijing next week before playing in Shanghai, Basel, Paris and the ATP World Tour Finals in London. Federer describes his feeling on playing in the ITPL in the video above.
