Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic has embroiled himself in fresh controversy after admitting he doesn’t love the sport.

Tomic, who recently failed to qualify for the just-concluded Australian Open, decided to participate in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here, where he frankly said that he regrets being a tennis player.

“I don’t love tennis but I like it a lot and it’s something that I need to do and I need to do as best as I can,” the 25-year-old was quoted as saying by news.com.au.

Asked if he regrets taking up the sport, he said: “Yeah, probably. The grind with everything and I mean taken, you know, 18 years already. It’s stressful, it’s not easy, it’s a big job.”

This is not the first time Tomic’s words have landed himself in trouble. In 2012, he asked the chair umpire to eject his father from the crowd.

In 2013, he lashed out at top some of the top Tennis Australia officials for not providing enough support to his sister Sara on tour.
