I Don’t Feel I’m Invincible, Says Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has undisputedly been the best tennis player in over 12 months. The Serb won three of the four Grand Slams last year to finish the season with an incredible 83-6 record, in the process, dominating his top rivals – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray – with a 13-6 success against them in 2015.

The new season kicked-off, but Djokovic began from where he left last year. Without dropping a set all tournament, the 28-year-old pulled off the Qatar Open title in Doha last week, defeating Rafael Nadal 6-1 6-1 in the title-clash. That done, the Serb doesn’t think that he’s invincible but insists that he’s playing the tennis of his life.

“No, I don’t feel invincible,” Djokovic was quoted as saying by Tennis-X. “Nobody is invincible. But I’m playing the tennis of my life, and I will try to, you know, nurture and cherish those moments on the court. [The Doha title] does definitely give me a great deal of confidence for the rest of the season,” he continued further.

The 10-time Grand Slam champion, however, said his main focus remains to be the Australian Open 2016. “My thoughts are only directed to Melbourne and what I need to do there,” asserted Djokovic, who will be bidding for his sixth title Down Under.

“That’s where I’m hoping I can continue this run and this great level of performance.”
