Is Robin Soderling going to announce his comeback?

This is what was being rumoured after the former Swedish star published a picture of himself from French Open, calling a press conference.

There were also chitchats that the 33-year-old would make an announcement on his coaching future or many be some promotional stuff.

However, Soderling put all the rumours to rest, tweeting that he’s not making a return to the court.

“A load of requests for itw’s [interviews] came through my team, the tournament and ATP. Due to limited time outside my commitments, it was decided to host a press conference. So, don’t expect any surprises or announcements. I am just grateful people care about my presence in Paris at all,” he wrote to his 118,000 followers.

Soderling, who is best known for being the first player to defeat Rafael Nadal at French Open (he did that in 2009), won 10 career titles in singles and peaked to a career-high ranking of No. 4. His best appearance at a Grand Slam came at the Parisian Major, where he reached the final in 2009 and 2010.

He called a time on his career at the age of 26 due to infectious mononucleosis.
