World No.3 Rafael Nadal might have been sidelined due to various injuries in the past, but the fancied Spaniard has always astonished everyone with his return. That said, 3-time French Open champion, Gustavo Kuerten, insists that this time would be no different, and that Nadal will spring up another flourishing return to professional circuit.

“It’s worrying for all of us who love watching him when he’s injured but then he keeps surprising us,” Kuerten, who peaked to his career-high ranking of number one in world rankings, told Reuters.

Speaking of his rivalry with top-ranked Serb Novak Djokovic, Kuerten said: “He turned it around last year and finished up as the number one again. Anything is possible for Rafa, but it depends on his physical condition and the level of Novak (Djokovic).”

“His style has a massive impact on the body; it’s based on his physical performance a lot.”

Nadal, 28, winded up the 2014 season with a decent win-loss record of 49-11, before a series of injuries forced him to opt out of the year-ending ATP Finals in London.
