Nick Kyrgios outlasted 6-4 3-6 7-6 over fellow young gun Stefanos Tsitsipas to storm into the final of the Citi Open in Washington.

It was the battle of equals as the duo went neck-to-neck before Kyrgios managed to hold his nerves and win the deciding tie-breaker.

As if the scoreline didn’t convince you how close the contest was, there were as many as five staggering stats that sure will.

First serve percentage [KYRGIOS-TSITSIPAS] 64-64

First serve points won [KYRGIOS-TSITSIPAS] 48/58 – 48/58

Second serve points won [KYRGIOS-TSITSIPAS] 16/33 – 16/33

Break points won [KYRGIOS-TSITSIPAS] 2-2

“This week has been awesome. It’s probably one of the best tournament weeks of my life,” Kyrgios was quoted as saying by ATP World Tour.

“I’ve really enjoyed myself. D.C. has been a lot of fun. Crowds have been awesome. But I’m just doing the right things. I’m having the same routine every day.

“I’m trying to improve on a lot of little habits, and it’s paying off. Five days in a row competing, I’m pretty happy with myself.”

Kyrgios will face another promising player in Daniil Medvedev in the all important clash on Sunday.
