Eugenie Bouchard Breaks ‘All White’ Dress Code at Wimbledon Championships

Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard found herself under the scanner after violating the dress code policy during her shocking first-round egress from the prestigious Wimbledon Championships at the All England Club on Tuesday.

Even as the tournament does not allow its players to sport any apparel other than in white colour, the 21-year-old wore a black sports bra which popped out visibly after she went on to shake hands with her opponent Ying-Ying Duan of China.

Consequently, the chair umpire soon called up the tournament referee’s office to inform him about the incident. However, Bouchard shrugged off talks when inquired about it.

“I was not aware of that at all. And no one told me anything about my bra,” she told Daily Mail afterward.

It didn’t turn out to be a fruitful day for Bouchard – the last year’s finalist here – as she failed to catch up with the absconding form, losing out 7-6 6-4 to her little-known counterpart.
