Czech star Tomas Berdych accentuated the dominance of tennis’ ‘Big Three’ – comprising of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal – as he labeled the present era of the sport to be the greatest ever.

Berdych, in his early days, was one of the witnesses of Federer’s class, before Nadal staged absolute domination for a brief period. Now, it’s Djokovic who has incessantly succeeded in running rings around all his opponents.

That makes the 30-year-old Czech feel that he belongs to the era embracing the greatest tennis players of all time. “Well, we are in the tennis era of the greatest players,” Berdych was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.

He added: “It was a three or four years of dominance of Roger, then in between Rafa enjoyed some great years. And now basically what Novak (Djokovic) is doing on the court is amazing. It seems he is from another world.”

Berdych, however, believes that the competition just makes him a better player. “It’s always a big challenge, to try to chase those guys. I think the positive thing is that they make me a better player, because I’m trying to get closer to them, trying to reach higher levels.”
