Stefanos Tsitsipas lost his cool during his semi-final match against Andrey Rublev at the ATP Next Gen Finals, being held in Milan, on Friday.

After dropping one of his serves towards the end of fifth set, the Greek youngster couldn’t keep his emotions in check as he thrashed the headphones, which are used for on-court coaching.

Bang! Out came one side. Then another. He hurt his fingers in the process and received a quick treatment before the proceedings resumed.

Tsitsipas overcame the meltdown as he went on to prevail 4-3(3) 3-4(5) 4-0 2-4 4-3(2) over his Russian opponent.

This barely comes as a surprise, given the fact that Tsitsipas had very recently expressed displease at the newly-introduced on-court coaching system.

“The coaching on court I’m really not a big fan of, to be honest with you,” he was quote as saying by Sport360.

“I think the player should find solutions by himself. I don’t really like to talk when I’m playing on the court,” he opined.

Meanwhile, Tsitsipas is now scheduled to lock horns with Alex De Minaur of Australia in Sunday’s final.
