Former World No. 1 Chris Evert insists that top-ranked Novak Djokovic is the favourite to pull off this year’s French Open title that got underway in Paris on Sunday.

Surprisingly, Djokovic is yet to add the French Open title to his illustrious career, and for Evert, this is the best opportunity for the energetic Serb to clinch the prestigious championship on red dirt.

18-time Grand Slam champion Evert, who now works as a pundit, further divulged that she considers Russia’s Maria Sharapova to successfully defend her women’s singles crown, as per her thoughts on ESPN.

Furthermore, she labeled former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka and Australian giant-killer Nick Kyrgios as dark horses in the women’s and men’s event respectively.
