World No.1 Novak Djokovic and defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka crushed their respective quarterfinal opponents to set up a blockbuster semifinal encounter at the Australian Open 2015.

Top-seeded Djokovic overcame early resistance from big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic to pull off a 7-6 6-4 6-2 triumph at the infamous Rod Laver Arena. The Serb won 89 per cent of his first-serve points and committed as low as 17 unforced errors.

Meanwhile, No. 4 seed Wawrinka continued his love affair with the prestigious tournament Down Under, as he rode on his supreme form and powerful serve to oust Japanese sensation Kei Nishikori 6-3 6-4 7-6 in the other encounter.

The duo will lock horns in what is going to be the repeat of last year’s quarterfinal clash, where Wawrinka had pulled off a marathon triumph and eventually went on the win the championship.

Djokovic lead the head-to-head record against Wawrinka, 16-3.
