The main draw of the ATP Barcelona Open kicked-off with the fringe players taking the courts on Monday.

Frenchman Benoit Paire was one of the notable names that emerged victorious with ease, as he made short work of little-known Spaniard Jaume Munar 6-2 6-2 in the opening-round battle that lasted for just a shade over an hour.

Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci also got off to a glorious start, thrashing Japanese journeyman Yuichi Sugita 6-1 6-0 in just 49 minutes.
