The Grand Slams have been habitually dominated by tennis’ ‘Big Four’ that comprises of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray.

And so, former Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt articulated on the debate for this year’s Championships, touting the past winners – Andy Murray and Roger Federer – to start as the favourites for the prestigious event at All England Club.

“Andy will be tough to beat,” Hewitt was quoted as saying by Mirror. “His second serve is probably the one area that good returners like Novak and the bigger hitters can probably get a hold of but he defends it so well.”

Further hailing the 2013 champion, the Australian added: “Andy’s playing really well at the moment – as well as I’ve seen him play in a couple of years. With his movement, I think the surface suits his game – him and Federer the most.”

Hewitt also had contrasting views on Djokovic and Nadal. While the former has arguably been the most dominating player on the tour in the recent epoch, the latter has struggled to get going.

“Nadal, in the last couple of years, hasn’t played his best tennis on grass and at Wimbledon. So I guess there are a couple of question marks over him,” he asserted.

“Novak’s obviously great on everything but I think Andy and Roger are the two that stand out with the surface.”
