After UFC superstar Ronda Rousey, another sportswoman could make her WWE debut.

None other than Serena Williams.

WWE’s chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon has expressed interest at recruiting the American tennis star in a quest to cope up with the rising popularity of women in the entertainment sport.

“Serena! I want Serena. She’s awesome,” McMahon was quoted as saying by The Sun.

“The women in NXT then started stealing the show and that’s when our audience started chanting ‘this is wrestling’ and that’s what really gave rise to the ‘give women a chance’ movement.

“Our fans are empowered because they know they have a voice and they make things happen.”

Will this move materialize? Perhaps not until Williams calls a time on her tennis career.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old, who gave birth to her first child earlier this year, hasn’t played since her runner-up finish at the US Open in September.
