Ons Jabeur was extremely focused during her first-round match against local hope Ekaterina Makarova at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Russia, on Tuesday.

Not only does the scoreline, which reads a lopsided 6-1 6-2 suggest so, but what happened towards the end of the match also acts as a testimony to it.

After Makarova hit a wide return, Jabeur thought she had just consolidated her serve. That wasn’t the only case though as she had served out the match as well.

Just as the Tunisian star was about to move to the other side of the court – seemingly thinking that the game is not over yet – she saw Makarova approaching the net and shaking hands with the umpire.

It was only then that she realized she had won.

“Hahah when you don’t realize the match is over,” the 24-year-old later laughed it off on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Jabeur’s fine run at the tournament continued as she upset last year’s US Open champion Sloane Stephens of the United States to enter the quarter-finals.

She is scheduled to face Anett Kontaveit of Estonia on Thursday.
