Honeymoon time for Marin Cilic after shock Wimbledon exit

Wimbledon ouster for Marin Cilic has turned blessing in disguise, well only for his personal life.

The Croatian star was knocked out of the prestigious tournament following a stunning 3-6 1-6 6-4 7-6 7-5 defeat at the hands of little-known Argentine Guido Pella in the second round on Thursday.

Despite his journey coming to a premature end, Cilic will take heart from the fact that he will finally get some quality time to spend with his wife Kristina Milkovic.

The couple tied the knot in at the end of April, but haven’t been on honeymoon yet. And now could be the time.

“Now I’m going to enjoy it to rest, after all, I have not had any honeymoon yet,” Cilic, 29, told at the post-match press conference.

Cilic, who reached the final at All England Club last year (lost to Roger Federer), was clearly not impressed with his performance though.

“It’s very disappointing, I came to play well and both I and my team thought we could go further,” he said.

“But today I was not good enough to defeat my opponent. I was not at the level I should be.”
