If you have ever wondered why Roger Federer is perhaps the most loved tennis player, you need to see what the Swiss maestro did following his early win at Wimbledon.

Federer, the No. 2 seed, scored a 6-1 6-4 6-4 win over Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic in the first round on Monday. And just seconds after the win, he showed why he’s so popular.

While obliging some of his fans with autographs, a young girl came up to him and flashed a poster that read, ‘Roger, can I have your headband please.” No prizes for guessing what he did next.

Federer didn’t mind spending a few seconds to search for a new headband in his kit bag before giving it to the supplicant, much to the crowd’s amusement.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion will lock horns with either Slovakia’s Lukas Lacko or Benjamin Bonzi of France in the second round.
