It’s a known fact that Daria Gavrilova is not the one to keep her emotions in check. Thursday’s outing was no different!

The Australian tennis player was handed a 6-3 6-4 defeat at the hands of Russia’s Maria Sharapova in the third round of the Italian Open in Rome.

Serving for survival at 4-5 in the second set, Gavrilova committed a double fault to concede a match point. Reacting to the blunder, she banged her racket before flinging it away in disgust.

Not that the new one was safe from Gavrilova’s frustration. After Sharapova went on the win the game, set, and the match, she launched the brand new piece of racket in the air.

This is not the first time Gavrilova has been in the news for the wrong reasons. Earlier this year, at the Mexican Open, she survived disqualification after she threw a racket that somehow missed hitting a ball boy.

As for Sharapova, a former world No. 1 and a five-time Grand Slam champion, she is scheduled to lock horns with reigning French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia for a place in the quarter-finals.
