Ouch! Nick Kyrgios gets hit straight in mouth by Alexander Zverev during Fast4 match

The Fast4 doubles exhibition match turned out to be an exciting affair on Monday. For Nick Kyrgios, however, there was a certain painful moment too.

Kyrgios, partnering fellow Australian Lleyton Hewitt against Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, was hit right in the mouth during a rally – inadvertently, of course.

It happened in the first game of the match itself, when Kyrgios – in an attempt to block a Zverev volley – stood close at the net, copping the tap straight in the face.

Kyrgios fell flat on court as Zverev came across the net, checking if the former’s heart was still beating – all in jest.

Kyrgios and Hewitt went on to win the match via tiebreaker.
