Nick Kyrgios accentuated his prospective once again as he ousted 4th seed Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open on Wednesday. The unseeded Australian emerged victorious in the battle of nerves to sneak a 7-6 7-6 conquest of his Swiss counterpart.

The match-up lived up to its reputation, given that it not only promised to be a blockbuster battle, but the fact that the duo have forgettable past made it an even more anticipated battle. Eventually, it was Kyrgios, who succeeded in causing an early upset at the tournament here.
