Until a couple of months back, Rafael Nadal was going through a rough patch in his career. The Spanish ace, however, turned things around quickly, especially with the advent of the clay season by pulling off titles in Monte-Carlo and Barcelona.

This resurgence of Nadal seems to have impressed one of his top rivals, Andy Murray, who believes that it’s normal for all the players go through unpleasant phases, and that the Spaniard is still one of the most dominating players on the red dirt.

“All players go through periods where they do not necessarily compete as well as they did before, but the important thing is how you react to the downturn,” Puntodebreak quoted Murray, who himself lost to Nadal in Monte Carlo earlier this month.

Further opining on the 9-time French Open champion, Murray said: “In my opinion, Rafa still is one of the best players on clay and still working as hard as I can on and off track. You may have not won as many titles as before, but still extremely competitive.”
