Frank Mir returned to winning ways at UFC Fight Night 62. The former heavyweight champion faced Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the main event, and made quick work of the hometown favorite. Mir used good footwork, feints and an orthodox stance to put the screws to Silva in the very first round.

With both guys in need of a win desperately, Mir’s first round knockout of Bigfoot might have saved his UFC career. Frank Mir vs Bigfoot Silva went down in the Ginasio Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil. It was Mir’s first ever fight in Brazil. With the win, Mir’s fantastic record continues to expand, as he is now 17-9 as a pro.
