Chargers vs Broncos Highlights

With a solid record of 5-2, the San Diego Chargers traveled into Denver’s Sports Authority Field to take on the 5-1 Broncos tonight (Thurs., October 23, 2014).

The game promised to be a shootout as it featured two of the game’s best signal callers in Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers, but it actually got off to a bit of a slow start.

Manning finally got some points on the board at the end of the first quarter, finding Emmanuel Sanders on this insane 38-yard pass play (courtesy of Vine):

Denver capitalized on the drive with a 2-yard score to Sanders (Vine):

The Chargers came storming back on the strength of Rivers’ arm, as he found receiver Keenan Allen four times during a drive that ended with a 2-yard score to Allen (Vine):

The Broncos had little left to work with in the second quarter, but that didn’t matter to Manning, who found Sanders yet again with a 31-yard score (Vine):

The Broncos took a 14-7 lead into halftime.

After a Rivers interception, the Broncos scored on their first drive of the second half with Sanders’ third touchdown (Vine):

The Broncos went up by a lopsided score of 28-7 with a 2-yard run by Juwan Thompson (Vine):

The Chargers gained back some momentum with a 4-yard scoring pass to legendary tight end Antonio Gates (Vine):

However, the Broncos got the score right back with another short run from Thompson (Vine):

The Chargers added a third score with another catch by Gates, cutting the Broncos’ lead to 35-21 (Vine):

The Broncos got a late interception by Rahim Moore and ran out the clock to ice the impressive win.
