Manchester United-Adidas Kit Deal Worth £75 Million a Year

After Nike pulled off from renewing their deal with Manchester United, Adidas secured the contract with 20 times premier league champions for a whooping £750m for next 10 years. Which is around £75m a year but if Man Utd fail to qualify for Champions League yearly payout will be 20% less to £52 million a year.

Nike has pulled off from renewing their Kit Suppliers contract with Manchester United after 12 years partnership. Nike released a statement today that they are proud and honoured to be part of Manchester United partnership and would like to thank the club and supporters, but going forward they don’t thing that kit suppliers contract with United represent good value for money.

Which means Adidas will be the front runners from what could be the biggest kit contract in the history of football, United were hoping to tie up a deal with Nike for £60 a year but Nike opted against it and contract talks were halted since Adidas made Manchester United. Its been atleast three months since three parties are trying to set a deal and it was Nike who opted announced that they are pulling out of the new deal. This is the third high profile club in last one year which Nike has lost, previously Arsenal ditched Nike for Puma while Juventus signed a deal with Adidas as well.
