Watford made history by defeating Arsenal at Emirates Stadium

The Gunners was about to be the second position in Premier League point table if they could able to win their last match in ongoing EPL yesterday. But, unfortunately, they lost their last match against a most low profiled team Watford by 2 – 1. The most shameful matter is that they have lost at their home venue Emirates Stadium. Now, they are placed in 3rd position in point table where Chelsea is in top and Tottenham is in 2nd position respectively by playing the same number of match.

Arsenal was in great form in this ongoing EPL season but they have tested the loss finally. Before the defeat, they won consecutively four matches in this season but could not make the winning streak stable. THe victory is the great achievement for the little Watford where they have gained this victory over the Gunners at their venue after long time in history of Premier League. Through this victory, Watford has come to the 13th position from 14th in point table.

Since the beginning of the match, Arsenal failed to make their dominance over the Watford and due to that the Gunners fallen into pressure. They were faced two goals in the first half of the match. Basically, Watford scored two goals within 13 minutes of the match. Kaboul hitted first goal in 10 minutes and following next three minutes, Deeney scored the second goals.

However, Arsenal team was full of star players but in that day, they all were so dim. Since the beginning of the 2nd half, the apprentices of Arsene Wenger were so desperate to goals payment. They tried and tried. Finally, in 58 minutes of the match, Nigerian striker Iwobi succeeded to score one goal which just reduced the goal difference.

In all competitions of last seven matches of the Gunners, Arsenal won six of them where rest match was drawn against Bournemouth. However, this last history between two teams also favoured the Gunners much. After the tournament namen was changed to Premier League in 1992, Watford has tested the victory over the Gunners for the first time. They last won against the Gunners in 1988.

Through the defeat of Arsenal, Tottenham was benefited because they are improved their ranking. Arsenal will play their next match against the top tier of EPL Chelsea in 4th February, 2017 and in same day Watford will play their next match against Burnley.
