Manchester United 2013 HighlightsManchester United are doing a free fall not only in the league but also in domestic cups, on the weekend they got booted out of the FA Cup in 3rd round tie against Swansea City while today they took on 1st leg of the semifinal between Sunderland vs manchester United. David Moyes was hoping to get into the final of the Capital One Cup and reach a step closer to win his first trophy with United which would have put him at ease for the remainder of the season and got a monkey out of his back if you like.

United though struggled playing away from home at Stadium of light, Sunderland and just before the halftime Ryan Giggs scored an own goal to give Sunerland a massive boost before the break. But United pulled the goal back immediately after the break when defender and captain Namanja vidic scored in 52 minute. United would have been happy with a 1-1 draw as they would play the 2nd leg at home but that was not to be as Cleverly tripped Adam Johnson in the box and Sunderland were awarded a penalty which Fabio Borini converted with ease.
