Former Porto coach replaced Del Bosque

The former Porto manager Julen Lopetegui has been appointed as the Spain national team new coach. Spanish Football Federation on Thursday appointed Lopetegui as the new coach.

Spain were knocked out from the European Championship last sixteen after defeating by Italy. Former Porto coach Lopetegui has replaced Spanish all-time greatest and successful coach Del Bosque on this Thursday.

Since 2014 Lopetegui was the coach of Porto in last two years. He was coaching Spanish youth team for several years before taking charge of Porto. He served as coach Spain Under-19, Spain U-20 and Under-21. Former Porto coach has won European Championship for Spanish U-19 and U-21 team within 2 years.

Lopetegui played a few match in his career for Real Madrid and Barcelona. At 1989-90 season, he won Spanish La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in the same season for Real Madrid. On the other hand, the new coach of Spain won Spanish Super Cup and two Copa del Rey and one UEFA Super Cup for Barcelona.

In fact, the world’s one of the best greatest football coach Del Bosque served Spain in between 2018 to 2016. Under his coaching Spanish football team won 2012 EURO championship and 2 year later they won the World Cup for the first time in their history.
