Salary: £300,000 a week
Joining from Everton at the age of 18 for £25.6 Million, Wayne Rooney has been one of Manchester United’s staple players for the last 10 years. Scoring 217 goals in 443 appearances, Rooney’s £15.6 Million annual salary is certainly worked hard for. Although the club is struggling in their recent form, it looks like Rooney is doing well regardless.
Robin Van Persie
Weekly salary £225,000
Joining Wayne Rooney at the top of the list is fellow United star striker Robin Van Persie. RVP joined from Arsenal in 2012 and has been a stand out performer. The Dutch international front man has scored 48 goals in just 76 appearances, expect his wage to go up in the next two years at this rate.
Yaya Toure
Weekly salary £240,000
Toure helped his club Manchester City on to Premier League wins in both 2011-12 & 2013-14, and the Sky Blues certainly reward him well. The Ivory Coast international star earns just under £13 million per year, and he has scored 51 goals in 185 appearances from his midfield position. Another Premier League title with Man City would likely see Yaya Toure break that £13 Million mark.
Sergio Aguero
Weekly salary £225,000
Manchester City front man Sergio Aguero sneaks in at number four, earning just under £12 Million per annum. Aguero joined City in 2011, and has ushered in two seasons as English Premier League champions while playing at The City of Manchester Stadium. The Argentine international has scored 77 goals in 124 appearances for Man City, making him well worth his £35 Million price tag.
Cesc Fabregas
Weekly Salary £200,000
Newly signed Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas joined from Barcelona for £30 Million this season, and he demands a pretty decent salary. Banking £10.4 Million per year, the Spanish international is the fifth highest paid player in the English Premier League, and he has only played once. Expect him to score his first EPL goal soon enough, but the jury is out until then.
