Cristiano Ronaldo became the world’s most expensive player when Real Madrid snatched him from Manchester United in 2009 for 80 million Euros. The former Red Devils winger scored 118 goals from 292 appearances during his six-year tenure for the club, and is widely recognized as one of the world’s best players. His 2014 earnings of an estimated £73 million made Ronaldo the world’s highest paid player of 2013-14. How would you feel about a Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United Return?

The club that made Ronaldo the star he is today, also said a fond farewell to him back in 2009. Ronaldo had been a staple in Man Utd’s overall game, and really hasn’t been replaced ever since. Recent signings Angel Di MAria and Radamel Falcao are undoubtedly the biggest stars to be signed since Ronaldo’s departure. That being said, the Portuguese international isn’t writing off a return to Old Trafford just yet. Check out what he said to Sky Sports:

Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United Return

“I love Manchester; Everyone knows that – I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.”

“I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there. I really did love being at Manchester United.”

Cristiano Ronald Manchester United highlights

Ronaldo’s impact at Manchester United is truly unrivalled in recent years, and the club could certainly do with a boost in this time of need. Fans have watch their Red Devils put on clumsy, sub-par performances for the last year. Ronaldo gives his opinion on Manchester United’s form:

“Believe me, they will be a good team again. I’m sure of it. It is a great club. Manchester is passing through a bad moment. Last year it was a horrible season and this year they haven’t started well either. But I do think they did well to buy (Angel) Di Maria and (Radamel) Falcao. I think the team will be much better. I want to see them better because it is such a fantastic club and they deserve to be better. Falcao is a very good signing. He is a very good player.”

We don’t know wha this season holds for Manchester United, but there would be a huge party at Old Trafford if Ronaldo returns.
